Cherai is located 35 Kms from Cochin. Cherai Beach is rightly considered as one of the most beautiful beaches in Kerala. It is a beautiful combination of sea and backwaters rimmed by lush green coconut palms and paddy fields.  A few kilometers towards the north of the beach is the Fish Market, which will be active from the early morning. A boy in Kuttanad (Alappuzha district, Kerala) going to school on a rainy day. Most of the families in kuttanad own small boats, and it’s a major mode of transportation there. Most of the area is covered with water throughout the year. Kuttanadu is also known as “The Rice Bowl of Kerala”.
